Privacy is not an option, and it shouldn’t be the price we accept for just getting on the internet

I'm a student of OPSEC for the past 6 years. Trust me when I say, the other side isn't all flowers and fluff talk.

With all the recent talk about privacy, anonymity and government censorship, here are some tips you can implement immediately to ensure that you are safe from any sort of initial intervention from the government.

PS - this is not a complete 100% guide to anonymity. The strategies covered here will only help evade initial tracking and censorship from the government. For 100% anonymity, you need to implement all the OPSEC rules. But that's for a different day.

PS 2 - the US3 g0vernment is beyond all this. They can track you despite you following all the steps below. Ind1an IT g0vernment sucks. So these tips will hold for a long time.

Use a VPN at all times

This is without a doubt the most important strategy. Use a paid VPN service. NordVPN is quite good at protecting your privacy and they also have a no-log policy. Feel free to research on which VPN is the best and pick one to suit your needs/budget. I recommend NordVPN (no, they do not pay me to say this -_-)

Use Firefox or brave browser

Chrome is famous for snooping in on what you are doing. Use the Firefox browser or the brave browser with the following add-ons

uBlock Origin - Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)

Decentraleyes - Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)

No Coin - Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)

Beware of what you post in your public accounts

This is the most obvious tip. If your name is exposed, or your identity is exposed in your account like your name in Instagram or your location in twitter, they can co-relate with your ip logs and track you. Here are some answers to most of your questions.

  1. You can use reddit with a VPN to discuss whatever you want, where-ever you want. Consider reddit the new Instagram with privacy.
  2. DO NOT USE INSTAGRAM to post anti-national content or any offensive content. Your phone number is linked to your Instagram account. Even if not, your ip has already been logged with all the Instagram usage you are doing. They will find out and will be on your door.
  3. Post your selfies all you want. But one day, you're going to regret it. The "black" matrix future is real. One day, you will pay 50x the cost for something than its regular price just because the g0vt and private players know you want that commodity.
  4. Never post politics, gender issues, social issues or ANYTHING sensitive on LinkedIn. It will affect your profile and your job seeking prospects. Keep quiet and search for jobs or grow your connections. Be kind on LinkedIn. It's your personal brand. Do all that on reddit.
  5. You never know who I am on reddit. I may have 100000 karma. I may have 0. Use that to voice your opinions. Create strong content. If you're into that sort of stuff.
