I'm a student of OPSEC for the past 6 years. Trust me when I say, the other side isn't all flowers and fluff talk.
With all the recent talk about privacy, anonymity and government censorship, here are some tips you can implement immediately to ensure that you are safe from any sort of initial intervention from the government.
PS - this is not a complete 100% guide to anonymity. The strategies covered here will only help evade initial tracking and censorship from the government. For 100% anonymity, you need to implement all the OPSEC rules. But that's for a different day.
PS 2 - the US3 g0vernment is beyond all this. They can track you despite you following all the steps below. Ind1an IT g0vernment sucks. So these tips will hold for a long time.
This is without a doubt the most important strategy. Use a paid VPN service. NordVPN is quite good at protecting your privacy and they also have a no-log policy. Feel free to research on which VPN is the best and pick one to suit your needs/budget. I recommend NordVPN (no, they do not pay me to say this -_-)
Chrome is famous for snooping in on what you are doing. Use the Firefox browser or the brave browser with the following add-ons
uBlock Origin - Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)
Decentraleyes - Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)
No Coin - Get this Extension for 🦊 Firefox (en-US)
This is the most obvious tip. If your name is exposed, or your identity is exposed in your account like your name in Instagram or your location in twitter, they can co-relate with your ip logs and track you. Here are some answers to most of your questions.
